SESSION II

Being Your Authentic Self: Writing a Winning College Essay

We often hear college essay advice like “just be yourself” when engaged in the college application process. But what does being your authentic self actually mean, especially in light of the recent SCOTUS decision on race-based admissions? Join Mighty Writers’ Senior Writer, Maureen Boland as she discusses these issues as well as common mistakes applicants make. Ms. Boland will provide examples of strong and weak essay points and offer practical tips for helping students complete essays that reflect their best selves.
