Clearing the Path: College & Career Playbooks for Athletics and the Performing Arts
This March, PCPR is channeling a bit of March Madness energy as we spotlight pathways in athletics and the performing arts through two connected events. At this Network Meeting, practitioners will explore how to better guide student‑athletes and performing arts students—from understanding academic and athletic eligibility requirements to navigating auditions, scholarships, and the wide range of college and career opportunities these fields offer.
This session is designed for college access professionals, school counselors, CBO mentors, higher‑education partners, and anyone supporting Philadelphia students in their postsecondary planning.
What You'll Learn
- Academic and athletic eligibility requirements for collegiate sports
- Preparation steps for students pursuing performing arts programs
- Scholarship opportunities across both pathways
- Career options in athletics, performing arts, and related fields
- Strategies to better advise students with talent in these areas

This session will prepare practitioners for deeper conversations with students ahead of the Launch Your Future: Philly College Fair on March 26. We encourage partners not only to attend the fair but to bring their students so they can connect directly with colleges, coaches, and program leaders offering strong athletic and performing arts pathways.
Together, these March events create a winning bracket: informed practitioners on March 19 and empowered students on March 26.
